Dear Magnetic Resonance Community,
The US Federal Helium Reserve provides 42% of the US crude Helium supply and 1/3 for the world's supply, and it will close on October 7, 2013. This will result in helium shortages and loss of access to affordable helium. As you know, Helium is critical in scientific research, medicine, hospitals and manufacturing, and greatly reducing its availability will have a devastating impact on these industries.

The US Congress and Senate can intervene in the closure of the Federal Helium Reserve on October 7, 2013. We have prepared a We the People petition on the White House website. In addition to writing to Congressional Representatives, we ask you for your signature on this petition. Please also forward this email to your colleges and students.
